Sheet Metal Services

Flexible and Crucial Metal Fabrication Method.

GM Sheet Metal Services

Sheet metal is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking. Material that has got flattened into thin sheets is sheet metal. It can be cut and bent into a variety of shapes and sizes. Moreover, it is a flexible material that getting employed in product manufacturing for ages. It has become a crucial component of production thanks to the almost infinite variety of metals that can get used and the nearly identical number of fabrication methods.
Mostly, sheet metal can be applied in car and truck bodies, airplane wings, medical equipment and so on. The shape and the profile of thin sheet metal are a key segment of the component esthetic and the strength. Therefore, there is high interest in design of sheet metal components.

Hot-Rolled Steel Sheets

Hot-rolled steel is mill process by which the steel is roll pressed at a high temperature. The temperature for hot-rolled steel often reaches 1700° F or exceeds 1700° F. Hot-rolled steel is available in several grades to meet your project specifications. It is easier to deal with in subsequent processing operations and is more formable and workable than raw steel. It undergoes a sequence of rotating rollers and still burns to acquire the correct dimensions.

Color Coated Steel Sheets

Color coated steel is a significant innovation and product development in steel in construction. Because of this innovation, the construction industry is enjoying a boom. Color coated steel is lightweight, bending resistance and compression resistance. It especially suitable for ceilings, partitions and more. Besides, excellent color coated steel sheet is convenient, timesaving and material-saving during the installation process. It grows in importance in various sectors, used for commercial roofing, warehouses, showrooms and airports etc.

Electrical Steel Sheets

Electrical steel sheet is a functional material manufactured by modifying the magnetic properties of steel for efficient magnetism and electricity conversion. It is referred as an effectual usage for electrical equipment. Excellent magnetic characteristics are necessary for iron core materials. An electrical steel sheet has features that are unique from those of other types of steel sheets as a result. Electrical steel sheet would have their impurities, which degrade magnetic characteristics to a minimum.

Sheet Metal Process

Cutting and Curling

Cutting is always the initial step in sheet production. The whole procedure involves using a lot of force to cut or remove a metal sheet. The typical technique for slicing a metal sheet is shearing. But to cut precious metals, hard materials, and specialty alloys – laser – equipment gets employed. After cutting, it would contain sharp edges with burrs. So we need to curl it smoothly. Curling is a forming process that involves de-burring sheet metal to produce smooth edges.

Bending

Metal sheets can be bent or formed via machining, folding and stamping to create the V-bend, U-bend or other unique forms that are needed for the project. Bending doesn’t create holes in sheet metal.

Joining

Various metal sheets get used to forming a portion of numerous projects. Welding, brazing, riveting, and adhesives get employed to join these metal sheets together.

Ironing

After joining different metal sheets, it would turn up the situation that there is nonuniform. So that we need to iron the sheet metals to achieve a uniform thickness.

Laser Cutting

This is a more precise and faster way that can even be performed automatically by using CNC laser cutting machine.

Finishing

After the metal sheet has cut, bent, and molded into the desired shape, the surface finish gets created using silk screening, powder and paint coatings, and other unique surface treatments.
